Has your Trump support/hatred influenced your viewing?

I personally can't stand Trump but I adore the nature of the show. Also, I'm a big Arnie fan and have been enjoying watching him (discounting all the body-building metaphors).

How about you guys?

reply

No, why would it influence my viewing? He has nothing to do with the show anymore

reply

He's the executive producer, which means he does still make money off it.

Let's put it this way. Has taking the moral high ground affected your viewing?

reply

Still he really has nothing to do with the show. I could care less if he's making money off of it, I mean it was his show and when I watch the show I dont think about it. But thats just my opinion

reply

"could care less" it's "Couldn't" I wish people would get this right!

reply

I could care less that my use of words bugs you! You poor thing!

reply

It's "couldn't" care less. Saying you "could" care less wouldn't really make any sense. It's not a major grammatical error, it's actually a rather common mistake but I have to agree with tjc-2005, it's a little annoying when people do this.

reply

Again, I COULD seriously care less if my grammatical error annoys you and tjc-2005. This isn't school and I don't need an English lesson. It's not my problem that it annoys both of you so bad that you both feel the needs to correct someones grammar. You both could clearly understand what I meant but hey whatever lets y'all sleep better at night, have at it!! Just think in about 11 days what will y'all do since you won't be able to correct people on a message board!!

reply

Kem... calm down. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Someday when you're older and more mature, you'll understand that we were just trying to help.

reply

Lol, you have no idea my age, trust I'm old, I'm not some teeny bopper. How about some day when you mature, you will learn that you don't have to be a know it all. You could have easily read my comment and moved along, but you couldn't resist correcting me. You had already seen another poster do it, but you just had to say something. As I said this is a message board, not English class, not work, if god forbid I write something wrong on here, I don't need some a@@hats feeling like they need to teach me proper grammar and did you ever think about maybe it was a mistake and I just happened to not realize I left the "n't" off. You know some times people do make mistakes. Since this isnt a place where I feel like I need to make sure I dot every "I" and cross every "T", I don't always go back and read before I post. Good thing is I can always fix my "grammatical errors" but you can't fix being an a-hole.

reply

I have a feeling this is not the first time someone has corrected you on the internet. So defensive, it's fun to read your reply's. 

reply

Actually no, I haven't been corrected, I've just seen people like you correct others all over this board. Have a blessed day, you'll need it!

reply

TJC and Stickman,

I used to fully agree with you two--until I learned that the reverse phrase, "I could care less" really is also appropriate.

From a straightforward logical meaning, off course, speakers should say "I couldN'T care less" when they want to be taken literally.

BUT the other phrase, "I could care less" designed to express essentially the same meaning, is fitting when you think of it like the famous Yiddish phrase, "I should be so lucky," which is expressed when speaking about something that would not in any way be regarded as lucky.

Another example, the phrase "head over heels." People (Hey, Valentine's Day is tomorrow) are described as falling, "head over heels in love." Literally, your head is normally around 6 feet over your heels, so how does that phrase suggest any sort of falling? It doesn't. It only has meaning when you understand that, like most idioms, does not make literal sense.

Another way of looking at it: When someone says, "I could care less," it is spoken in a sarcastic manner, meaning the listener is meant to understand the opposite is the truth in the matter.

Ever since I read an article about this, I no longer care--literally--whether someone uses the phrase with or without the "n't". Either way, I understand they mean the same thing.

You're welcome.

Why don't we just shoot 'em down and be through with it?

reply

Nope. It's couldn't care less. Saying could care less means you actually can care less!!!

Here's a helpful video so you get it https://youtu.be/om7O0MFkmpw

You're welcome.

reply

I could care less if he's making money off of it,

I am surprised that no one has mentioned that he doesn't make money off it, he makes money from it

The OP is a Trump hating crybaby. They can't shut up about him.

reply

I'm a big Arnold fan, so I love seeing him on the show. He's doing a good job, IMO.

reply

I cannot stand Donald Trump, but I felt that way before he announced his candidacy for President. I watched in the past because of the contestants, and I am watching now for the same reason, and to see how Arnie does. So far I have enjoyed it.

reply

No, I agree with Trump on many issues but occasionally I do find myself questioning his sanity. LOL!

Either way, it hasn't influenced me. I still watch the show. Trump was definitely better than Arnold. Arnold is so stiff... not surprising at all that he's played a robot in his career.
