They didn't stomp the flag with their boots, they didn't wipe their butts with it, they didn't set it on fire, so there was no statement there to be made. That flag which was probably made in china was only on that artificial building for decoration and show so you could get an idea of the wind speed.
I don't hate this country and I don't support terrorism but I wouldn't mind seeing them raise an American flag upside down on a flag pole. This country is definitely under distress. But most people would probably also see that as unpatriotic because most people who watch a shows like american guns, american chopper, american pickers, american restoration, american idol, american dad, american horror story, etc. hate anyone who isn't like them it seems.

You're right, no human being would stack books like this.
The American flag is more than just a flag, it is a symbol of liberty and freedom. Troops have died defending our flag and have served it well. There is a difference between mother nature tearing it off a building (which is people showed respect it would be removed before a storm) and putting it on a a little shed to knock over.

I did think it was strange that they let the flag fall on the wet, dirty ground, considering how many patriotic episodes and bikes they have had. Doesn't seem like something you would expect them to do.
shareI wonder if maybe the producers came up with the idea. Knowing it would stir up controversy. Seeing as how desperate they were for ratings before they officially got cancelled. The producers have stirred the pot many times in this show's history. When someone talks directly to the camera in interviews. "Senior said this about you." or "Junior said this about OCC."
I suspect the producers had something to do with the flag incident.
