Be honest, did you watch with subtitles?

I am curious and wondering, how people first watched this film. Did you watch it in the original version, with or without subtitles? Or watched it in a dubbed English version? I am not judging but am just curious to see how the experience may have been different.

reply

Nope, I hate movies with subtitles when I don't understand the language.

I had the second to best experience, I watched the dubbed version since I don't understand Korean.

reply

Definitely watched with subtitles. I will only do anime dubbed.

Subtitles are a pain in the ass and they make the movie-watching experience feel more like work, but it's better than dubbing.

reply

I watch everything with subs. Dubbing just mutilates things and you lose a lot due to it. If you can't read that quickly then I guess dubs are for you.

I watched with subtitles.

I always try to watch all foreign films with subtitles.

Yeah, even older Italian films where even the Italian language version is dubbed... The Italian version probably has more of the original actors voices (I mean they would have sets where some actors spoke Italian, some German, some French etc) but if most of the cast was Italian, they were likely to dub themselves. And I like genre films and English dubbing of SF, Horror, Krimis, Kaiju and stuff like that was often really awful because nobody thought it was worth bothering about. Hell, even the Mexican wrestling films and horror are worth seeing with subtitles. Everybody sounds about 67% less retarded in the originals.

I am a big fan of 60’s - 80’s Italian film, and you are so right.

reply

I watched it with subtitles. I have it on DVD, subtitles are easier on DVD vs streaming. I rarely RARELY watch a subtitled movie while streaming.

PS. To counteract the low IQed people. I do actually read pretty quickly.
