I'm looking for the name of a film possibly from the early 80's in which a man driving in the middle of the countryside
breaks down and looking for help he calls at an isolated house where a father and daughter live on their own and give him shelter for the
night. The next day he tries to continue his journey and the father who is a psycho refuses to let him leave. The father and daughter
obviously hadn't had contact with anybody in years and the daughter is imprisoned in the house by the father.

The Music of Chance comes to mind, but I don't remember a daughter. James Spader and M. Emmett Walsh.

When writing "THE KEEPER" I never really concerned myself with the originality of the story, or the lack there of. I've been doing this far too many years to believe that there's an "original idea" anywhere out there. But rather I simply wanted to do a study of these two characters -- both prisoners, really -- for different reasons -- victims of their pasts, and which is the stronger, and will survive. gs
