a waste of time
hey
-so i just saw this movie because a friend of mine told me it had an interesting plot. I was so disappointed, i really wanted to finish the film because I believe all films deserve a chance, but i couldn't take it, i turned it off during what must have been the last ten minutes, right after the "climax". The film was so messy. Various parts in the story were simply left and forgotten. I don't know what the director thought he was doing. There were many shots filmed to impress you with their "unique" technique, but few to none were effective.
All the women in this movie seemed to be the same age, and Robin williams' love interest must have been at least 20 years younger than him. Every scene she's in you keep on thinking, "this girl is sweet and beautiful, what the hell is she doing with a 55+ man, with no life, and obvious social issues?"
I guess it was supposed to be clever because there were so many mini plots woven inbetween the story, but instead of thinking "oh, that's interesting" the whole time its more of a "wait,oh, so that one guy did...oh okay, um...sure"
The characters are very unlikeable. I felt no compassion for them whatsoever as i watched this film. So while Robin Williams is going on his little odyssey i simply didn't care. I almost felt like rooting against him because I questioned the morality of his actions.
I never actually got into the movie and just waited for it to be over. I give it one star, and two thumbs down. Interesting concept, badly executed.
