I was wondering if the anime show is any good--is it worth watching?

Its ok, it good if you are kinda confused by the story or just need a refreasher course. But the animation is really crappy and it doesnt really offer anything new other than a little more story added to the realian Albedo always kept around.

oh and to your original post = i agree, the Xenosaga animation is CRAP. they could've justook the cut scenes from the games and assembled them into a cd and it'd be the coolest animever but noooo ~
anyway =
Fooly Cooly or Furi Kuri or FLCL (most outlandish anime! great sense of humor that looks innocent but really for a more mature understanding of what is...FOOLY COOLY! a different kind of animation. . .it MOVES more than a lot of other animes. itruly stays true to the MANGA style. it's just beautiful. if you have to check something out first out of this list, i suggest you check out Fooly Cooly first!)
Inuyasha (kinda old but still good. great characters, a blend of drama and sometimes comedy; i'm sure you've heard of it)
Samurai 7 (animated take on Kurosawa's Seven Samurai; very beautiful to watch and rich in story though dvd runs expensive)
Gunslinger Girl (little girls that are trained to kill...don't wanna spoil it for you but i love the depth and darkness of this anime)
Macross Zero (this+is a classic out of all the Macrosses, this+is the best one if you're a mecha-fighting & myth + history lover)
~ want more guns and anciet folklore? try Noir, if you don't mind the Shojou-Ai connotations.

R.O.D. the TV (Read Or Die) - where the Paper Master heroines employ their arto kick bad-guys' asses
Haibane Renmei - if you want a thoughtful anime on where we come from + Death
Azumanga Daioh! - has goto be the most senseless and funny anime ever made. there's a quieto uproarious humor throughouthentire season and the characters are allovably hilarious
Elfen Lied - another dark anime very bloody; uses psychic powers to cause destruction
Kannazuki No Miko - very dramatic shojou-ai, has mecha elements; about Fates and second lives
