Was anyone else besides me satisfied with the fact that Johnny Depp went and killed his ex-wife and her other man? I actually was cheering! Anyone else?

And I think 99.9% of people were satisfied. It was intended. From the start the movie makes you root for him.

I just saw it and I admit that I was disappointed that the movie went the way of him being the killer all along, just like in Hide and Seek. I feel very dissatisfied. And how did he do such a lovely job cleaning up the SHOOTER carvings all over the walls?

I didn't really see it coming. I was worried that he and his wife would get back together in the end. I don't think it really could have ended any other way, though.

A lot of people plant a family members ashes with a plant, so in theory their body becomes part of that plant.
I think what they tried to imply was that her body became part of the corn so technically, you could say that Mort was eating his ex-wife's body

Having read the short story it was based on, I love the ending. The movie ending is drastically different than the ending of the original story, which I thought was great. Especially since the whole "you ruined the ending; fix it" exchange between Mort and Shooter- it got fixed :)

I found it to be rather obvious that it was him all along. Even after being proven right I still liked the ending very much. It felt satisfying. Even after having spoiled the plot for myself. =) Nice touch with the corn.
I kept visioning this ending about halfway through the movie, but I didn't really think it would happen. I'm glad the director had the guts to pull it off. And Depp is nothing short of amazing.
But please, don't compare this very good movie to the appalling Hide and Seek. That one was so bad I sat groaning most of the way through it. Good actors, but awful script.
