Composer

Anyone know who composed the music for the official Red Dead Revolver website? On imdb.com it says Sergio Leone compsoed it, but Sergio Leone is dead and never composed music.

reply

it's the composer with which Leone worked with on all his projects: Ennio Morecone...i've read somewhere that Rockstar is still trying to get the license for the music since they will be using the original scores-

"We have a crying child. Roll the damn cameras!"

reply

I think you meant Ennio Morricone, but close enough. I know he HAD been the composer when the game was still going to be published by Capcom, and the Capcom trailer from a year or two back had an instantly-recognizable Morricone theme, but now that I've been playing it I'm not so sure Rockstar didn't scrap what they had by him (which is a bonehead move if they did).

Now if you should want to call me, use this number. This other one is the old number.

what sergio leone movie is the music from.

the song im talking about is from the trailer of the game.

reply

the music in the trailer is L'ARENA, i think, and is also on the kill bill vol 2 soundtrack.

i sure was humming along.

reply

but what sergio leone movie is it from?

reply

its not the song from Kill Bill called, "L'Arena" (from the film THE PROFESSIONAL GUN directed by Sergio COBUCCI)

I don't think the trailer song is from a spaghetti western film, if Morricone did compose it, he might of just composed it for the trailer. I dunno though, but I've never heard that song from a spaghetti western, so Im betting its new.

and its not from a Sergio Leone film cause I've seen all of them and i would've recognized.

Wow. Kudos on typing all that out.

reply

lol it probably took me longer to type all that out than to actually beat the game. (very easy game)

Um... What was the name of the song that was on the level ( in multi player mode) "The Collesium" I think. Its the one with the big walls in the middle of the level and the houses around the sides. It is like a big maze.
The song starts with the guitar, and then has like a mysterious whistling.

Unless Rockstar releases an official soundtrack, it's going to be hard, hard, hard work (well, that and hard money!) to pick out any specific song. I've got some random Spaghetti Western soundtracks, but listening to them isn't helping much ;) (well, except that I think I've connected the song from the opening credits to the movie The Man Called Apocalypse Joe).

edit - oh hey, anyone looking for a song with whistling in it, check out track 15 (Bullet for a Stranger - Sequence 1) from disc 2 at http://www.towerrecords.com/product.aspx?pfid=1540451 - unfortunately very little of the whistling is part of that clip, but maybe it'll ring your bell.

Now if you should want to call me, use this number. This other one is the old number.

reply

Thanx. That probably is it

reply

I really hope they release a soundtrack....these are some obscure spaghetti western songs.

reply

I think it's really cool that Rockstar spends so much time/money on making a great soundtrack for their games.
