Well, they were developing a direct sequel but now it turned out it's out of question. Codemasters got the trademark "Operation Flashpoint" so now Bohemia will have to pick another title for their game.

Bohemia doesn't own the rights to their own game? How ridiculous is that?
shareIt's more like Codemasters owns the intelectual property rights to the name "Operation Flashpoint" and they are developing Operation Flashpoint 2 claiming that it will be "official sequel of award winning game operation flashpoint". It's all bollocks as codemasters do not own the code or the technology so they need to create their own, new system. If You wan't to play a true sequel, the people who made operation flashpoint (Bohemia Interactive) use their technology in "ArmA: Armed Assault", which is basically just heavily improved Operation Flashpoint and "ArmA 2" which will be released in summer 2009.
They said something about Late 2008...
