why jubei?

it seems to me that there wasnt any point to having jubei be in the second installment...(put aside the whole thing about whether or not you like him). why didnt they just keep samanosuke as the main character for the whole trilogy?
and dont tell me for historical reasons since its obvious that they are taking some major license with what happened back then. they could have just had samanosuke go back to his hometown or whatever...

the only reason i could think was that two different companies own the rights to the characters and maybe they couldnt get licensed in time for samanosuke to be in two, but they could in three...

so whats the real story?

this was done 2 show how the desendents and family memebers of juebei and samonoske meet in numbuh 4.in numbuh 4 tenkai is the uncle of samonoske and juebei is the granduaghter of jubei(the main character in samurais destiny).

Jubei was there to Munenori look like a badass. but yeah I thought part 2 was cool Jubei had a cool voice actor and decent look to him and helped set up dawn of dreams. And it was good to have a lil break from Samonosuke made his return look really dramatic. would be cool to see old jubei one last time in the onimusha series the last one left us in 1600 with Akane still going after Munenori in the end and that only leaves 6 years for old Jubei.

That's a very good question, it's because a different team took over and failed to understand what makes a true sequel or why people loved the first one. And since Judei is the second most known Samurai (the real one), they wanted to cash in on that. But Judei's story and his team did nothing for the storyline of Oni. Judei just wasn't main character material at all.

Take a break from Samanosuke? He only got to appear in one game at the time... it wasn't time to take a break from him at all. A lame excuse...

The fact that Nobunaga Oda says that he's coming back made Oni 2 pointless. Even if you were to play Oni 1 and go straight to Oni 3... there would be no lost or something missing from the storyline. Part 2 was just dumb in it's story, it's annoying characters, and the gift giving.
