Futurama

Didn't futurama use a similar plot in the episode called '30% iron chef'? Bender is an awful cook, but finds a vial of pure flavor or something, and one drop makes his food taste delicious. It turns out to be LSD, which honestly would have made this movie more interesting had they kept that part. But that's neither here nor there.

The episode predates this movie by 2-3 years, so it's obvious which came first. I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed this. Are they both based on another story or fable or something?
