Why I think (and hope) there will be a sequel

I don't even know if anyone will read this, it's been so long...I remember first playing skies of arcadia, and IMO it was the only RPG to feel like an evolution of something like your old top-downs.
Cool characters, good storyline and universe, and great looks for its time.

So I always wanted a sequel.

Now, I'm thinking there will be one, eventually.
Why?

Sega is trying to keep the character relevant.
Not only has he appeared in all three of the "Valkyria Chronicles" games, but also in the new Sega/Sonic racers.
It just seems like with the rumoured HD re-release (if that ever happens) and keeping the character around it seems at least a little likely that a sequel could be somewhere around a distant corner.

It is well over a decade over the original release, like with Shenmue (and there it was obvious that more was to come).

If SEGA didn't fold in hardware, we'd probably have seen it years ago.

Another game was in development it seems, but was canceled and team dissolved for whatever reasons. I think it really lies with Kodama, whose last credits are 7th Dragon and something in 2012 (PSO-related?).
