Attention any1 buying this game!!

I wanted to wait until I had completed this game before commenting. The outcome? Really good game that with a few touches could have been perfect. The games loading between levels isnt the problem, the problem is you have to sit through the same loading screen when you die (40 secs), which can be frustrating. Dukes health could be a little longer too. But apart from this, its great fun!
People dont have a mind of their own, thats the problem! If these so called high profile critics had given this same game a good review, people would agree and follow there comments like sheep. Just play this with an open mind! Its fantastic entertainment and duke is still the king!!

You honestly must be a shill.

Everything was total and utter *beep*

- Linear/on-set-track gameplay.
- Incessant, repetitive one liners that make you want to mute the television.
- No real variance of enemy cannon fodder.
- Next to no engaging story line (I don't care if its DN, it's no excuse not to have an story line that can engage the audience).
- horrible controls.
- Lack of numerous weapon classes other than two main weapons.

I gave it a play through, and I just because I agree with any and all critic review that states this game is absolute crap, doesn't mean I'm a sheep.

I just bought it really cheap at my local Microplay ($12) and I thought it was really enjoyable. I was a HUGE fan of DN3D back in the day and really, DNF is really not THAT much different.

I do agree with Rebuh The Blackfish on some of the cons he/she listed though:

-Gameplay was linear, pretty much no backtracking
-Control was a bit stiff and hard to maintain in some places
-Can only carry two weapons at a time, to me this is the games biggest flaw

I would also like to add:

-Driving stages, I found them incredibly ANNOYING!!!
-Bosses were way too easy
-Total cop out with the final boss
-Health bar, or should I say ego. Dying was way faster, why not just have a health bar?

As for the one liners and non-engaging story line, that's just Duke being Duke :P

Bottom line, it's good game despite it's flaws. Had this been released sometime between 99-04 it would have been huge, but being released in 2011 makes it seem really dated, especially since I played this right after playing Bioshock.

"Health bar, or should I say ego. Dying was way faster, why not just have a health bar?"

==It is a health bar except that it doesn't go down and stay down. There are no health packs to pick up in the world.

If you don't want to die quickly, then you have to play it on EASY mode.

But then you say that killing the big bosses was easy.

Try "UFC: Undisputed 3" (purchased this one and DNF nearly at the same time). Then you get to know how long the loading screens between levels can really be. After UFC loading screens DNF really feels like a swift and a very fleeting game.

This game is a real present to all those who played Duke back in 1990s and early 2000s. "Doom 3" is a lullaby in comparison to this extravaganza.

yeah its not as bad as the critics say but definitely a little dissapointing. my main beef with this game is just some parts are frustrating af and hard to figure out. Was not a fan of puzzles in Duke3D and shadow warrior
