Not as good as the first movie, not as good as the series. Still, I was glad to watch "anything Doc".

And what was up with that black cat coming up to the Doc like a trained pet at the end?

I agree completely--and also couldn't figure out the big black cat thing, part of the cloutie and beast issue but I didn't get it. Have you watched Saving Grace--the movie with Martin Clunes and Craig Ferguson? The first time we meet Doc Martin I believe and different from the curmudgeon we all love and the nice Doc in these movies. ANYTHING that has any input by Craig Ferguson can never be disappointing!

I agree. I love Doc Martin but this was definitely not up to par with any of the others.

I saw "Saving Grace" too and I don't remember him. In fairness, Blethyn and Ferguson make it difficult to notice much else. They were awesome.
