1. Zombies don’t run
2. Way too many characters
3. The Mall is overly generic and lame
4. Too much CGI
5. Strong female lead character is a Mary Sue and unbelievable
6. Lacks the grit and atmosphere of the original
7. This movie has no real message
8. Music is complete crap
9. Too tame and PC friendly
10. The characters aren’t realistic or interesting
11. Way too sanitized looking, felt like a soap opera half the time
12. The ending was typical Hollywood
13. Cringy dialogue

Why should all zombies follow the exact same rules? This is why slasher movies are mostly shit.

How is it PC? What the fuck is with people calling everything out as PC these days? Just because the female lead wasn't a whiney little cunt running around in her underwear?

Thats a really good question. I guess it must be militant types , they just arnt articulate enough to explain what the hell they are talking about, just run around spouting "PC gone mad" usually accompanied by "Lefties!" or "Liberals!!"

It's a great movie! Watch both .. the first 15 minutes alone is one if the best opening sequences ever.

Doesn't have the heart of the original (which is a better, more meaningful film) but it was still very good.

Agreed completely and unironically.

The remake was overrated and is typical Zack Snyder flashy action movie bullshit.

The only good fast zombie movies were Return of the Living Dead and the original 28 Days Later

28 Days Later isn't zombies, they are infected humans

I'd say 28 Days Later's Infected still just barely count as zombies, even if they're technically living, they're still mindless consuming killers reduced to the barest of base instinct.

Ever since the Resident Evil games, most zombies are usually infected humans of some sort. Hell, it even goes back further to the 70's and 80's if you consider chemical contamination the same as infection.

1. Zombies can run in other stories. They did it in Return of the living dead. Unlike this, those zombies weren't recent deaths.
2. I agree.
3. I think all malls are pretty generic. So that's not an issue. It would have be nice to see more of it like the original.
4. The CGI was a budgeting issue. Aside from the helicopters, it was decent. Especially for 2004.
5. She's not a mary sue. She's an ass but it makes sense. So are most of the characters in this.
6. It had its own thing. It's really clean, but tge zombies were ramped up in a freaky way.
7. I agree. This is an action flick and not a social commentary.
8. I love the music in this. Goblin deserves respect. This couldn't compete with the original and it has a great soundtrack instead of a score.
9. I don't see anything overly PC about this. It's certainly not tame.
10. You're not off on this one. They're two dimensional because there are so many.
11. Compared to the original, that's a valid point. Though I must say that most malls are really clean and sanitized looking. So that doesn't bother me.
12. The origin was supposed to have all the characters die but they went with the happier ending. This one leaned into the death of them all.
13. Yeah... that's fair.

I love the original and this one is fun too.
