I can't tell if it is like haunting ground (in another board it was compared with it too) but I can tell you that it was the reason why I bought a PS2.

I saw it in some kind of gameshow and I loved the graphics and the story.
If you are a fan of mystery-horror-survival games give it a try.

Take a look at Project Zero aka Fatal Frame, Forbidden Siren and Silent Hill too.

This is my favorite game genre.

they are the same just different characters stories bosses and surroundings

i've played both but the only reason i purchased a playstation 2 was for clock tower 3 because i'm a huge fan of the clock tower series and can tell you without a doubt that clock tower 3 is much better than haunting ground. Clock tower 3 is a good game if you are into the survival horror series which i am assuming you are because you enjoyed haunting ground. I would say clock tower 3 is worth the purchase but that is because i love the series and am in love with the genre.

If you liked Haunting Ground, you will like Clock Tower 3. Both are different from other survival horrors; they focus more on evading and hiding than fighting. So both have a really creepy-paranoid-being stalked vibe to them. Basically, you hide from enemies and rarely fight back. I love this game, personally.

i've only done the first stalker for each game, but here's how i would compare them so far.

fright: Clock tower 3 is jumpier, while haunting ground is more disturbing and psychological (at least to me)

combat: in clock tower 3 you can't do anything, except there's some evasion points and such. Haunting Ground you can kick and theres a dog to help fight. But if you lose the dog you're sorta screwed.

hiding: many more hiding spots in haunting ground, and it's easier to get away from the enemies.

setting: haunting ground is in a castle. Clock tower is in...well a bunch of different time periods.

plot: i dont know. not far enough in yet.

enemies: clock towers are cooler so far (sledgehammer guy vs ogre lookin guy)

thats all so far...

I would like to know the same thing, but from all the positive spin you people are saying I guess I'll just buy Clock Tower 3... if I can find it.

Haunting Ground was incredible. I bought it and played it to death, the story is very creepy and quite cinematic, and the set pieces were fantastic. And the stalkers! Oh my goodness, the second one that chases you is hella creepy.

Both are made by same developers and HG is an evolution of the CT3 gameplay. As such, HG has more intelligent stalkers who will learn of your hiding places and maybe find you in them the first time you ever use them. CT3 the enemies are kinda stupid and never find you in the hiding spots. I mean who follows someone into a toilet and doesn't check the cubicle??? Well the Scissor Twins don't!! There are plenty more things in the environment to hide behind too in HG
But in my opinion CT3 has the far better story and the boss fights are great. HG has a less interesting story (escape from castle) whicgh drags and boss fights are less rewarding.
HG has more secrets and the dog, Hewie is a neat touch. You can also hide behind doors and kick them into stalkers faces, unlike in CT3 where they automatically close behind you.
So both are great for different reasons!!
Be warned though, CT3 has one of the toughest final bosses in gaming history!!!

In my opinion, Haunting Ground is a lot better than Clock Tower 3. Better graphics, better soundtrack, better AI, everything is better in HG except the storyline and the "jump" factor.

CT3 kinda scared me, Haunting ground gets a teensy bit boring after awhile.
I hated one part where the sledgehammer guy came outta nowhere!

fill in the rest

I love them both but Clock Tower 3 is the slightly better one. If you like Haunting Ground you might also like Rule of Rose which features somewhat similar gameplay and story.
