One of the ministers or assistants in the film had said the "CIA is behind the coup." I was wondering is there any actual evidence to the CIA helping or setting up the coup to put Carmona in? Are there any ties with Carmona to the US?

Considering this kind of thing is precisely what the CIA exists for, they wouldn't be doing their jobs properly if they weren't involved. They also wouldn't be doing their jobs properly if they left any evidence. So either they're doing a really good job, or a really bad one. ; )
