So, let me get this straight: not having enough money is justification for finding the song for free and downloading it in violation of the copyright?

Yes it is totally justification if the prices are expensive.
If the producers are cheating us by charging unnecessarily high prices,
than they are the ones to blame for the violation of copyrights.
The rate of illegal usage of intellectual property is directly related to the prices.

OK, I can see that what you mean is that it is no different than robbery.
Yes, you are right.
But again robbery or violation of copyrights are not the core of the problem,
they are symptoms.
