Rick Schroder said it would be released in about 50-60 theatres on September 3, 2004 in markets in Arizona and New Mexico and he mentioned it would be released probably in some theatres in Tennessee (to grab the Tim McGraw fans) and maybe in some larger markets (which I presume meant NY and LA).

Then, hopefully it would grow from there if it was doing well.

But I presume Schroder will show it in other film festivals and the like before then (it was just shown at the Phoenix Film Festival).

In his discussion at the festival screening in Nashville, Schroder said it would be released in several areas in September. He mentioned a number of states including Arizona, New Mexico, Tennessee and Minnesota. He said his funding partners were Indian reservations because commercial financing sources were afraid the movie centering on Native American issues would not have wide enough appeal to be successful. After seeing the movie, I do not agree at all because it has all the elements of emotion and drama to appeal to a wide audience. In the same way the New Zealand Maori movie "Whale Rider" touches the hearts of audiences everywhere, this movie focusing on the life of a young Navajo man struggling with his personal demons, will certainly touch many people.
