This was filmed in my hometown

It was a little emberassing watching this movie, because most of it was shot in my hometown where I grew up, Chinle AZ. I've lived there for 13 years, and I could see it didn't change much. It still had the trash on the side of the road across the street from Bashes (food market), and Wells Fargo Bank. I don't know, it was just a little awkward seeing that image, especially if it's in an area where you lived most of your life, an area that I despised when I lived there. But, I did see a bunch of familiar faces and some of my friends that were used as extras. That suprised me alot. Ok, I'm done. I just had to get that off my chest.

I bet it was embarassing to watch that movie...the farthest I remember being on the rez is Window Rock, I live in Farmington, I lived here most of my life. I go through the rez sometimes and its hard to tell between the communities, and when you see a school it says like "_____ _____" Day School. And I'm like "ok, this is where we are at..." There is always trash on the rez...everywhere.

I've never been to Chinle though.

If it sounds like a cuss word, use it as a cuss word.

I live in Farmington too. Chinle is...well...if you saw it on "Black Cloud", then that's what you get.

Yup, I imagined it like that.

Unfortunately, yes, welcome back to the reality of a typical reservation or "homeland". Walking in beauty seems to have walked out the door sometime ago. Life was different 150 years ago for all Natives. But, until we honestly take responsiblity. WE are responsible for what our kids have to put up with! Welcome Home. "One with the Earth" now? "One with $$$...", Money talks and legacy walks. 2K6.
