The thing wrong with Indian films....

After a break from Bollywood for a year or so I watched Bewafaa beacuse my mum recommended it.. (and because I love Akshay).

I'm not going to criticise the story or plot... because they were not the problem... in fact the film had a lot of potential although the story has been done so many times before.

The problem is the corny and fake acting and direction. The film begins with the parents (including a mother who cannot act or deliver her dialogues to save her life) praying to god with ecstatic big grins on their faces, talking about how god is so graet... their family is great and respectful... their daughter is so great and respectful....

Why???

Why not just tone it down a notch, maybe, god forbid, make it seem a tiny bit realistic.

The second scene shows the ghastly Kareena waking up in her bed with her hair poker straight and styled and a bucket full of make up on as if shes just stepped out of a beauty parlour.

Im not criticising the film for being unrealistic with regards to the story or the song and dance sequences, because Indian films need to be appreciated in their context of fantasy. BUT why do they need to stuff fake and ridiculous morals down our throat with the dialogues about god, family, respect every three seconds. Is there no such thing as subtlety??? Maybe try subtle dialogues that convey something slightly similar to how real Indian families actaully speak...

And please try making the heroines look like normal human beings once in a while.

Maybe you should try sounding like one...

~Kabhie kabhi jitne ke lia, kuch harna parta hai, aur haarke jitne vale ko Baazigar kehte hain.

You have this opinion because your mom recommends the wrong films to you.
Wanna see good films:
Romance - Jab We Met, Saawariya
Thriller - Johnny Gaddaar
Comedy - Khosla Ka Ghosla
Critical - Black Friday, Mumbai Mere Jaan
Trend Setter (Cult Classics) - Rock On!!, Dev. D

Then you can start a new topic about what makes Bollywood exceptional :)

all those movies you mentioned have one thing in common. They were all *beep* (Apart from jab we met) they did not make enough money at box office, they made nothing overseas because..NOBODY WATCHES BORING FILMS..only a few people like you
