Real reason Fearless was cancelled...

The WB dropped it because even they're not willing to air such total crap on their network. Seriously, the show was an abomination.

It was bad from the very beginning....the WORST hack script I'd ever read, bar none. The WORST casting possible...the actors collectively had about as much personality and acting ability as a sponge.

It was so monumentally bad they couldn't even cut a full show together, which is why they postponed it in the first place. I guess eventually they realized that there was no saving something that was so bad to the core...

I don't know much about the other actors (after all I've only seen Rachel Leigh Cook in movies like "She's All That" ::gag::)but Ian Somerhalder is NOT a bad actor. He may have been the only decent talent in the show, but at least he is very talented.

If Barbie's so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

it failed because true fans to the series were p****ed off they changed the whole plot of the series. Hell they could spawn buffy, roswell, and angel and keep the story lines somewhat familiar but to origional fans of the books it was a slap in the face and we werent going to support a series about a 20 something year old FBI agent thats a brunette all because the show has the same name as fearless and the characters name is gaia and happens to resemble her traits other wise ie: lack of fear, serious kicking ass, and her side affects of basic body meltdown after kicking ass. That does not make it fearless. They could have at least said it was VERY EXTREMELY loosely based off the series. The fearless we know is about a teenage girl who likes kicking the crap out of street thugs drug dealers and asshats who harm her friends. Plus the backside drama between her miss priss the boy she has the hots for and her wheelchair bound friend who's maddly in hmm love or lust with her then onto the love/lust square going on... I liked the series because it was like... average teen girl (whos not as average because of her lack of fear) in high school dealing with normal high school drama mixed with the CIA after her.

So true. And wb sucks so that must really hurt.

Another poster already said it. The fans who read the books were pissed that they changed the entire story and setting. Had it been a "gritty" NYC setting with not so hot and famous yet capable actors it probably would have seen an airdate.

I have nothing against Rachel Leigh Cook but she does not strike me as "Gaia Moore". None of those lead actors really strike me as anything but mediocre, sorry.

They dropped the characters who made the story great. George, Ella, Mary, Sam, Heather, Ed, etc? I mean come on. The WB f-ked up, it would have been great.

I think the series should have a second chance, maybe on ABC, TNT, or HBO. Set in NYC with teen Gaia. Make it teen NYC Southland.

No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

Rachel did not have the essence of Gaia. She was too...bland and smirky. Gaia is this huge (not huge in a weight sense, but I always thought she would be tall and incredibly athletic looking). RLC is a pretty little girl. I always thought the blonde hair was a sort of trademark as well, which is why I was upset about her having brown hair.

I also though RLC was just...bleh in the role. She wasn't tough or interesting and she was too emotionless. Gaia was never emotionless, she was just fearless. Otherwise she was an awkward teenager.

The show as too "GIRL POWER" with the music and the shots, etc...It never felt like the series was all "GIRL POWER" it just felt like Gaia herself was a bad*ss and that's all there was. Also the basic plot during highschool was MUCH more interesting, and the characters were much more interesting. It wasn't a boring/normal police procedural.

I will say that the fight scenes were pretty damn sweet and Ian Somerhalder was probably the best.
