How did Ben get away in the end? First of all, didn't Sara phone the cops right before he cornered her in the basement? Also, I think she said on the phone that there were already cops outside. So how did he escape the building without being detained? And in the end, were they implying that he was going to work at another mental health center?
shareThe original ending has Ben being caught and being kept downstairs in Room 44. It is a much better ending.

Paranormal Activity (theater version) had a different ending Spielburg suggested it *shrug* AtT, it probably made more sense to use it.
