Michael Ivins/Deuteronilus

How about some more serious discussion beyond "unwatchable garbage they suck ever since transmissions man"? I actually enjoyed the film, and I get it, so far as I can tell, apart from the Michael Ivins character. What was his purpose, and what are the meanings of the interactions he was having with the space station? Does he represent a character from the original Christmas story? It seems to me that he could equally be an element of evil, representing a demon trying to destroy the baby, or an element of good as a sort of angel, trying to ensure the baby's birth and survival.

Thoughts?

Man, I don't know. I too wish we could talk about the FILM on this damn board. I watched it, and while I didn't really like it, I'd still like to have a discussion about it, rather than just arguing about if it sucked or not.

I don't know what the point about the outside of the base being made out of was. I don't know what the whole thing about the baby was. I don't know what Ivins pulled out from that hole. I assume Wayne/martian fixed the oxygen thing, but I don't know why it seemed so rushed. People WERE going space-mad, so I don't know how the baby changed anything. Why wasn't anyone surprised that an alien was discovered? Meh, I love the Lips, but they made it hard to like this film.

It's been agreed the whole world stinks, so no one's taking showers anymore.
