Ending *SPOILERS

What did you think of the ending, and its significance/symbolism? To me it represented the youth of the next generation marching together to the future, and then when the people join them near the end it's the idea of "we're all in it together." Thoughts?

Also, what do you think the significance was of the old man purposely stinging himself with the jelly fish? And also, what was the old man reaching for near the fridge in the last scene? It looked like he could see his dead son's ghost, and was patting him on the head?

Lastly, does anyone want to speculate on what happened to Nimura? It looked like he had some big plan in mind when he looks at the river while holding onto the old man after he pulls him out. They don't really show or explain what happened to him, but I'm curious to hear what others thought.

Stronger together, pardon the pun.
