how bad?

It's an odd question for this movie because... technically, it is gory, but the blood in the movie is done in a way that is clearly CG and made to look more fantastical than realistic.

It's clearly intentional and looks like a CG rendition of something out of a really old stage performance. When blood comes out, it's almost confetti and it comes out in quantity--it sort of floats in the air and often disappears. As opposed to blatant squirting or hosing of blood, it's like the blood sprays out in elegant ribbons.

I have seen some people still respond in a sort of shock to the violent scenes, though the blood is clearly CG and glitzed. I think they're responding to how fast and sudden the action happens, though. Often times, the violence in a film has more to do with how it was shot and edited than what is actually shown. Among many others, Tarantino and Kitano have clearly shown this in their films.
