The most shocking scene

For me the most shocking, or disheartening scene was on the underground railway station - the place is full of terrified civilians and wounded soldiers having limbs cut off etc, while at the same time an officer is handing out Iron Crosses like sweets, eg one soldier gets one for 'helping messengers through enemy lines' etc. The whole German Reich was imploding in flames around them into this one spot of hopeless chaos and yet people were still determined to fight to the end.
