in 5 lines, the plot sounds ok. NOT SO!!!

i bought this dvd used on a whim as i like earth impact and post apocalyptic type stories especially ones being realistic enough to let the object hit the planet (cough...armageddon...boo). anyway, one could summarize this so that it sounds ok. but the dialogue, complete lack of logic in the characters' actions/behaviour, constant changing from live action to mediocre CGI, and some subpar acting makes this painful to sit through. i fell asleep during (that in itself is common for me, so don't attribute that to the movie) and seriously had to think whether or not i wanted to finish watching. i did. it didn't get better and in fact, a couple things made it more gut wrenching.

i recommend reading a detailed (with 'spoilers') review if you're really interested. the 'microwave' idea is the only unique and interesting one. everything else is a waste of time.
