To South Park and Other Naysayers......

South Park and others,

Certainly, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm sure if Mr. Kangas were present, he would probably say exactly the same thing. However, there is a vast difference between voicing your opinion, and merely posting for the sheer sake of seeing your post on this forum. You may pat yourselves on the back for your "cleverness" at bad-mouthing the work of others, but some of you cross a line from opinion, to looking unintelligent and being just plain rude. Having watched Fear of Clowns, I can tell you that nearly 100% of the faults found in this movie are due to a lack of budget, not from a lack of talent, creativity, or vision from the director. Without a budget, a filmmaker is extremely limited in his or her equipment, and crew. Without a budget, that also means you can't afford A list actors. A normal three to four month shoot gets narrowed down to three weeks at best. Without a budget, you can't afford the special effects one would like. This doesn't mean he, and the cast and crew, shouldn't be commended for their effort. At least they are doing something other than wasting their time on a board bad-mouthing others. Everyone starts somewhere. If the director was fortunate enough to be born into the business, or if he was a multi-millionaire, we all would be having quite a different discussion. Since he is not, he like everyone else in this industry, has to work their way up. I can assure you that he has the talent to one day command the neccessary budget. Many others think so as well. But don't listen to my opinion. Maybe you would prefer that of Lions Gate? They obviously think so.

I agree with this. Some of these posts are rude, although that should be expected on a message board.

That's 100% not true. How can you blame bad writing on lack of a budget? Or poor editing? What about acting? Part of the directors job is to hire actors who can portray the roles well, and not all good actors are A-list, like you seem to suggest.

I didn't even hate this movie that much, but it ticks me off to see the director and fans using the excuse of budget. Yes, lack of a budget can affect a movie, but that doesn't mean that low budget movies have to be bad. There's plenty of low budget films that turned out to be good movies.

Bravo, Dougie, bravo.

It's as if you're right inside my brain with your comments... Except that this is the worst movie I've ever seen...

EDIT: On another note, I would add camera angles to that list of things you don't need a high budget to do well. I would recommend researching things like screen direction and the "rule-of-thirds." This doesn't cost anything (you don't need any fancy equipment: you don't even REALLY need a tri-pod if you're good at shooting hand-held) and just requires a WELL-PLACED camera.

I'm pretty sure you don't pay for a plot. So that whole budget excuse is ridiculous lmfao.

The entire plot of this movie was that shivers wanted to "GET BETTER"

....ROFL WTF?!
