well i just happened to come across this one in the middle of the night or something, and i was quite shocked by the naughty scene that blond chick made, i didn't know what kind of movie i was watching there for a while. i was too rather suprised it had a sequal, and looking here people don't seem too thrilled about this first one. i see the asians have even got a fourth "dorm daze" movie titled. i connect this "national lampoon" titling to older movies.
walked up to a wall of concrete, the journey ends here it seems, no new levels, game over, bumped into the concrete wall there, wells have gone dry, all my darlings has said goodbye, no sledgehammer can tear the wall to a new way, can't reprogram a game out of date, don't wake me up some early morn, i may be dreaming of a limitless game without a concrete wall.
If Van Wilder had a sequel greenlit, it shouldn't be surprising that this did either.
I'll say this - it's not a bad film. Actually, it is but it's not so bad that it is unwatchable more than it is a film where, if you go in expecting something worth your time, you're going to come away from it feeling like it wasn't worth it at all.
Honestly though, if someone is picking it up or catching it on the likes of Comedy Central (or any other channel), then it's hard to believe they'd be expecting that. If nothing else, it kind of affirms the belief that tacking on "National Lampoon" to a film's title dooms it to play out with little to no laughs (which is a shame really but I guess nothing can stay funny forever).
The first one was funny even though it was stupid, unlike almost every other modern National Lampoon movie which is just stupid. And to prove it, the sequel was god awful.
If you dont take it seriously it can be hilarious.
