POSSIBLE SPOILERS - he had to pick a number from 1-3

If he refused to pick, or picked the wrong number out of the three, it would result in eternal damnation. He picked #2. Initially he thought it was the right number, but he was really in purgatory, and things went really wrong. The smug, wiseguy teenager told him to pick #2 at the wedding (when there wasn't a choice of 3 things). He picked #2 when the time came because of what the wiseguy told him. I wouldn't have listened to what the wiseguy said. I would have picked #1 or #3. But what's really eating me is which number would have been the correct one to pick, #1, or #3? On my way out of work every day, there are three exit doors, so I always think of this. I didn't think to post about here till today.

Is it #1, #2, or #3? Well, you know #2 was the wrong one.
