Even though your "statement" was short, I knew it was a joke when I read up to "black women". Please don't stereotype my queens or put them all into one group. If they pay for it, its theirs. If they want it, they can get it. Why are you so concerned?

reply

Huh? Why are you concerned with me giving my opinion. You just gave YOURS!

Again I personally can't understand the need to wear pounds and pounds of fake hair. With all the new techniques for giving most women natural looking fake long hair but to see the heavy long ponytails and big buns that don't even match the person hair is just lazy work by the hairstylist.

Give me T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh and her plaits anyday.I wear my hair the same way yet people want me to get a perm and wear my hair hanging down my back.Foe what? If that's what they choose so be it but again why so much of it? Tisha Campbell who's married to Duane Martin also wore a lot of bad-looking fake hair on "My Wife & Kids".

No. You're twisted and racial opinion crossed the line when you grouped black women all in one. That's the problem.

reply

Give me a break.Neither of you know the meaning of the word racist and imdb trolls are not on my radar.I know how to use the "IGNORE" function.

Yea i do think her hair is a lil much I am like damn her head must be heavy either that or she has a strong ass neck. But I am not concerned about it. It doesn't look that bad. I have seen worse.

reply

I totally agree with you. I think this stems from some black women wanting to have a look closer to white women, because society tries to make us believe they are the standard of beauty. Perfect exmaple.....Beyonce. When have we "EVER" seen her "REAL" hair? Also read my other post at the end of this thread to explain my opinion more.

That was such an ignorant a ss statement to make! First of all, not all black women wear fake hair, second of all white women wear fake hair just as much as black women. So don't just say black women ok! And third of all, that was a stereotype. That s hit was just plain ignorant!!

P.S Thank you MusiqChild305! That was so sweet and we love yall too. You guys are my kings. lol! :)

reply

First off thank you platniumceo88 and musiqchild305 for the sweet comment it's nice to know that there are still some men out here who realize we are QUEENS so *smooches* for that one I love ya'll 2!..SECONDLY I'am a hair dresser and i will tell you exactly WHY LR wears weaves because she does so many photo shoots and red carpet event and televison events where she has to keep her hair done she doesnt want to damage her real hair by putting heat and grease in her natural hair she has really beautiful hair and i'am sure she wants to keep it healthy i do hair for a few models and becasue they do photo shoots so much and runway they want me to constantly give them weaves so all the styling wont damage there real hair IT MAKES SENSE...everyone got there own reasons but for whatever reason it's there REASON!....if you ever notice whe you see pictures of LR in the turks and caicos she has hair curly 90 percent of the time because she is giving her hair a break not to mention she is in the carribean and it hot and humid.

reply

that is a good questions tho... no offense ./... but do majority blk women wear weave???? i never thought of taht

Lexxi*s new baby is the puppy named MAX!!!

reply

Black women can acheive great lengths of hair without weave you don't believe me? Check out longhaircareforum.com or blackhairmedia.com and look at some of these beautiful black sisters who were able to acheive fabulous lengths by learning how to properly care for their hair. Oh and grease is the demon for out hair. Don't fall into the hype. I can go on a rampage but I will leave that for my discussions on the hair boards.

I think Lisaraye's character was supposed to be over the top. Hence the ridiculous hair. Elise Neal, Teri Vaughn and the countless guest stars all had normal hair.

reply

White women wear weave too. They just call it extensions...

Wow that was sort of a tongue twister haha

If I'm in your dreams then your end is near.

reply

LOL, and the nails too. They think they're so classy.

reply

Who thinks their classy? I hope your not only refering to black women because white women and hispanics wear the fake nails too.

If I'm in your dreams then your end is near.

reply

Because white women celebrities don't wear fake hair...

I really see where the OP was coming from. I don't think she was trying to be racist, and anyone should be able to see that she wasn't trying to say "ALL" black women. I agree with the OP. I think "SOME" black women are obsessed with trying to be FAKE. As a black women who believes in being natural, I think there is nothing more beautiful than a "NATURAL" woman. Unless you are bald, you can make real hair beautiful. I've had my own long hair my entire life, but still, I've never understood the obsession that "SOME" black women have with hair. It's like they have bought into this thing from society that beauty is measured by how long and straight your hair is, which is ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with an occasional "different" look, but not "ALL" the time with all the many ridiculous braids and weaves, and colors. And some nails are beautiful, but natural nails with a clear coat can be just as beautiful. I used to wear nails, but realized how good my own nails could look, and also how much money I could save by enriching those nails shops, most of which are not owned by..........well you know! When you take all that mess off, what are you left with? BE REAL! Accent your natural beauty, which I'm sure is what the OP meant. Some women get too caught up in all of that and depend on it too much to define who they really are. There is nothing wrong with looking good, but some take it too far, and actually look tacky!!

Fake hair is fun. I love it - and fake lashes and nails.
Being a girl is fun.
