Sniper

All you need is two snipers to take two shots and you would end it in about 5 minutes. Where were the SWAT snipers?

wow, if you actually watched the movie, or read about the real incident, you would know that SWAT didn't make it there on time

They were stuck in the infamous California traffic. 4 to 5 lane superhighways would be impossible to navigate in rush hour, especially if half the cars are slamming on the brakes the moment they see cop lights.

reply

they allso in the real robbery wore full body armour that took specailly ordered rounds from a near by gun shop to peneterate and kill the two nut jobs

reply

Ok, no snipers, but policemens are supposed to be trained. There were a lot of them... shooting in only two targets... none of them could hit their heads, their hands or their legs/feets in 40 minutes... What is this ? Incompetence, of course..

reply

learn something about firearms and physics. please

at that range the 9mm and .45 pistols were pretty useless. impossible to hit what you aim at. the bullets start to drop and veer off target

reply

There was some real camera footage where a couple of bullets hit one of the suspects; however, they just fell off the vest like nothing had happen.

Out of the 8,000 LAPD cops, only a few hundred are in the SWAT team, and they are not situated at certain points in the city where they could arrive at an area within a few minutes. LA is just too big, and you can blame the city leaders, and the big landowners back in the 19th and early 20th centuary for creating that situation.

Yeah because making headshots with a fracking pistol in real life is as easy as it is in Counter Strike.

Dumbass.

incompetence???
dude, either you don't know *beep* about weapons,or you're a complete r'tard.
first: try hitting a clean headshot with a 9mm from that distance.
second: cops are trained ,yes, to deal with everyday situations.
try thinking about your training when you're dealing with 2 men,
shooting what probably is the world's most effective HV assault
rifle EVER MADE.
third: Even if they DID manage to pull their sh*t together,it would be near
impossible to take a clean aim, 'cause the robbers were shooting at every
head they saw pop-up. it's a good thing they were spraying, 'cause if
they had taken the time to aim properly, they might have shot and killed
every officer present.

The SWAT team should have had access to police helicopters for rapid transport or something, better yet take a sniper shot from the helicopter or something...

Perhaps I watched too many movies cause I found it almost comical that the elite assault force were held up by ordinary traffic.
Though it is LA and I know that city is notorious for its heavy, congested traffic.

reply

wait wait wait...from a helicopter? this isn't hollywood m8 - taking a shot from a heli is something that can be done MAYBE by a highly trained SF sniper, and even for him/her, a headshot would be impossible.

According to many comments, the SWAT team snipers were just not available. That's too bad because I think a sniper would have ended this problem in a few minutes. If it wasn't for a Russian sniper, we might all be speaking German today. I'm talking about the movie "Enemy At The Gates." The Russian sniper demoralized the Germans with his ability to shoot out the eyes of an officer from a great distance.
