This film does not deserve it's rating

I guess you are used to people always sharing the same opinion as you? I'm accustomed to people having a variety of opinions, often opposite to my own. I'm not getting the John Hughes meets Japan reference either. So this is a light teen comedy mixed with sadistic Japanese sensibilities? Seems a bit racist to me, or at least ignorant of Japanese cinema. Unless you just meant "John Hughes goes to Japan" which makes even less sense to me since this is not like any John Hughes movie I've ever seen.

I thought it was a well done film, with good acting, and some tasty violence. I'd give it a 6.5 or so, but am not going to cluck about it getting a 7.

You're right, it needs to be a bit higher.

You don't get it. If this exact same movie came out of Hollywood, it would have been equalled to The Room. But a single word can make even the biggest piles of dung turn magically into gold: "Japan".
