I'm canadian and to be honest i really dislike canadian televsion. They show the same show over and over agian even shows that are 2 years old they'll continue to repeat. I whould love to watch one usa chanell, maybe even 5 or 6. I'm sick and tired of all this canadian ****, come on canada get something newer or better. Also canada stop giving us half *** versions of us televison channells, i whould love to watch jack ass but i can't, why because canadians want to show **** tv. end of rant.

You may hate Canadian shows but Train 48 is not based on any US show.
It is based on Australian TV show Going Home.
Blame Australia or turn on the other 150 crap shows from the US that you love so much...

You really don't know much about Canadian TV apparently.

I am a Canadian aswell, and no I don't like Canadian T.V.
I'm sorry, and I really don't mean to insult anyone, but I find Canadian T.V. to be hokey and dull. Also I find shows like Corner Gas to show Canadians as dimwitted hicks (with bad teeth).
I've been complaining about Canadian T.V. for a long time now.
I will admit that I loved both Degrassi Junoir High and Degrassi High, but this Next Generation crap? Come on!
I also was a huge fan of Road to Avonlea for the first 2 seasons.
Gus Pike is the best Canadian character for a mile!(or km).

La la la...linoleum!

I found this to be quite an enjoyable show. And I happen to like canadian shows. Talking To Americans is pretty funny, so is Stella.

Canadian TV sucks. And I can say that because I'm Canadian.

I am Canadian and a lot of Canadian TV is just crap. Like Train 48, Red Green and a hundred other shows. But there are also a lot of good Canadian shows it's just that the bad ones seem to be REALLY bad and for some reason they stay on the air for years.

reply

Canadian TV sucks nowadays, but it used to be awesome. Remember Kids in the Hall? SCTV? Hell, even Red Green was funny back in the day.

But then, we don't make as many TV shows as the US. Sure, if you produce 100 shows a year, you're bound to get a few good ones. Canada can't do that, cause the creative are poor and the rich are media illiterate (proof: Popcultured). So before calling Canadian TV crap, look at the mass of shows Fox has produced and cancelled in the last 2 years.

The kings of TV, obviously, are the British though. They know comedy.

Someone needs to Create a Channel in Which has a mix of Movies, Popular USA Shows, and Original Shows with a mix of Reality Shows

Now that would be a good Channel

I am Canadian, and I agree, Canadian television sucks! It makes Canada look bad. However, there are few Canadian shows that I like which are: La Femme Nikita, Degrassi (the 80's version), and the Kids in the Hall. Those shows are quite popular in the US I believe.

We definitely don't have the best TV in the world, but we also don't have big budgets and a huge population, both of which impact our television output.
That said, we do have lots of great shows (in my opinion).
Corner Gas is hilarious, Degrassi was fantastic (I wasn't as big a fan of the newer ones, but they were popular outside of Canada as well as in Canada). The Anne of Green Gables stuff was iconic and entertaining. The Kids in the Hall was hilarious. Trailer Park Boys, although not my taste, have been immensely successful.
Shows like Ready or Not may have been the world's best, but it was an enjoyable coming of age show.

SCTV also needs to be noted as entertaining, as do Mr Dressup, My Secret Identity, Fraggle Rock, Littlest Hobo, You Can't do that on Television, Breaker High, Nikita. Up Schitt's Creek also looks funny.
Considering our population is a tenth that of the US, that means our likely output of talented filmmakers is likely a tenth of theirs so no wonder we have fewer good shows. I think we're improving as times goes on (although I admit I do still enjoy the cheesy 80s Canadian shows)
