Danny going to Aberdeen

Danny didn't want to move to Aberdeen with Fiona because it would mean he'd be abandoning his institutionalized wife. Then at the end he says he's moving there because he got a job with Interpol that will allow him to telecommute--as if work had been the impediment. So why is the wife no longer an issue?

reply

BECAUSE THE SHOW GOT CANCELED

reply

No need to shout. I'm aware it's the final episode. That doesn't justify character motivation being handled inconsistently.

reply

Oh Sorry, I had caps on by accident, did not mean to shout Please forgive

Originally they were just suspended which was during the time Danny told Fiona he couldn't go. Afterwords they were told UCOS was shut down for good. So with no job keeping him there he probably reconsider his desire to be with Fiona outweighed his feelings of commitment to his I'll wife and thus began looking for work that would meet the change of heart.

Since I'm so far behind (series 8,episode 7) does anyone have suggestions for a replacement so I don't fall into a show hole?

reply

You got it right - it was work that was the impediment, which Fiona knew, hence her reaction. Danny was using his wife as an excuse to not move, but really he didn't want to leave UCOS.

Lyndhursts character was truly awful and grating!

reply

Danny was not one of my favorite characters in the series, and Fiona. ..ugh.
