soldiers

Why did the gang family & friends chant 'soldiers' frequently?

reply

bnp british national party
neo nazi party loved by racists in that area

Thanks,
I am curious how do you know that?, do/did you live in the area?

reply

I wondered about that myself actually. I just thought that they chanted that because it was similar to football thug mentality and that they seemed to see themselves as "heroes" or "kings of the estate" and that no-one, especially not the police, could touch them. But the BNP idea makes sense, as they would definetly appeal to people like that.

I thought this drama was excellent in highlighting just how serious the problems are in areas like that- the arrogaunce of the young thugs and the fear from local residents, and thug mentality of the people a lot like those who chanted "soldiers! soldiers! soldiers!" while banging on Tony Cottis' car.
