You have to take into account a lot of things though, you can't judge an independent movie on blockbuster standards, a lot of hollywood films are made for one reason: PROFIT. Scripts are changed, and actors fired, the original creation can become nothing like the writer intended, all this is done to promote mass market appeal.
When you sit and watch an independent film, like Terror Toons 2, you are taking a trip through the mind of the director, i don;t think anyone is taking this movie 'seriously': because it's not a serious movie, next time you pick out a movie to watch, try reading the back of the box and looking at the cover. I mean, look at the title of the movie... The box clearly conveys the kind of movie this is.
I like a lot of movies that the 'general public' would agree are excellent films, as well as a lot of more cult movies. Terror Toons 2 isn;t even a movie i like because it's bad, i genuinely think it's a great film, all of the friends i have shown it to agree with me, most of who'm watch it with their jaws dropped most of the way through.
When i watch a film like this i think about how much work and effort has been put into it, all the props and sets and costumes, unless i am mistaken, didn't the director do all/most of it himself? The countless hours of work with no promise of pay, all for the end product, that is what motivates a good filmaker/artist, if i ever created something this crazy and funny and original i would be *beep* proud of myself.
