Bruno was such a great character

I just got done watching this movie. I think it was GREAT!!!

Beck, the doctor / main character is the best of course.

In some ways though, Bruno is my -favorite- character of the movie.

Why?

Because he really went through some serious *beep* for the doctor. I found the scene interesting where he offered the doctor a "tip" for helping his son at the beginning of the movie, and the doctor was surprised. And then Bruno offered him something else instead - a TV, DVD player, etc etc.

And the doctor was just kinda... surprised by it. I could tell the doctor took it as a sincere compliment, and he knew that Bruno was just trying to say "thanks" in his own way.

But at the same time, I could tell that the doctor didn't really feel like he required a tip - I think he felt like he was just doing his job, just doing "what was supposed to be done."

So obviously, Bruno felt a lot deeper sense of appreciation than the doctor realized, or expected.

But I LOVE the way that Bruno pays it back. He really felt like the doctor saved his son (at least when the original incident occurred 3 years ago), and was determined to make it up.

I like the idea of Karma, and this is a good example of it. The doctor may have saved Bruno's kid, may have saved Bruno from having the child taken from him (if they thought he beat his child). Bruno repays that act by saving the doctor.

Maybe its just a bit fairytale, but *shrugs* I liked it. I think it was a bit of redemption for a character who was probably "a bad guy" in regular life.

I thought it was interesting that a character like Bruno, and even Gonzales were necessary to the storyline for justice to prevail. Two characters operating outside the system of law become essential for justice to prevail. Don't forget Margot's father, a dirty cop, operating outside the confines of the law with regard to Margot so that ultimately justice could be done.

I never thought I'd be cheering for a couple of gangbangers! When Bruno put down that torture woman, I almost cheered. If there's anything worse than ruthless killers, it's careless, ruthless killers.

"How's that for Japanese efficiency?"

So it was not weird that I was a bit happy to see him killing her?
Seems that I'm not alone :p

That was a tripped out scene. Bruno being surprised as hell that she is calmly walking down the street, after taking two direct shots. Placing himself in considerable danger to to follow her, since the police could show up at any time. The pedestrians were totally freaking out, some running, some just watching the two of them in shock. In any case, I honor his resolve, he wanted to make thoroughly sure that bbitch was dead.

I'd like to know where that nasty creature thought she was going with two slugs in her back?

He was a great character and I loved the scenes when Alexandre was in his company on the French housing estates.
