convoluted and confusing... never knew who half the characters were.
didnt get the plot really. neither the plot holes, and couldnt be bothered to figure either of them out.
the end was so drawn out and theatrical i found myself shouting at the screen, com'on u french people... why do u need to paint these emotions so thick in all your movies!?
i think all of France as a nation is emotionally on the level of a 16 year old chick.

Ignorance and indifference do indeed form an excellent perspective from which to review things. And French movies emotionally immature? Ever seen any Hollywood output by any chance?

Yes, the finale was quite starkly sentimental, but after what the main character had been through for the previous eight years, his breakdown can hardly be called implausible. There's no overflowing emotion in the film otherwise.
