Computer Screen @ End: NOT True

First, we watched the DVD over and over, scene by scene, trying to find an answer to the crucial $26K question and nothing said here in comments or by the characters satisifes. Who knew what and when and how is just not there; dialogue lacked rationale.

But even more. Trying to find the answer to above, we stopped the DVD and read the computer screen where the Russel Crowe reporter character wrote the final story. It stated clearly that the killer Bingham was found in his "Northern Virginia apartment" after committing suicide with a "rifle at his side." How could the newspaper print that? He was killed in public by police officers who would have to file a different report as shooters who killed while on duty. How could newspaper editors allow that? Why did the computer screen show an alternate reality to events?

You're referring to the film version, not the BBC mini series. Haven't seen the film so I can't help, sorry.

Wrong forum - you're talking about the US remake.
