i watched this in 2 parts, but the time between the 2 were pretty significant.
* What exactly was the role of the black youth that got shot? i know he had the brief case, but what did he have to do with the Baker murder?
* What was Dominic Foy's link? i know he was involved with Baker, but i didnt understand why he was arrested. I know he was hiding information, but what exactly?

The kid stole the hitman's briefcase, realised Sonia was the target of an assassination and tried to warn her.
Foy runs a PR company and was hired by U-Ex oil's lobbyists to recruit Sonia to be a Mole in Collins' office.
* Stagg, the young black kid, was a minor thief and IIRC drug user. He and his friend/girlfriend (I don;t recall if it was ever made clear) would steal purses and briefcases from people and then ransom the contents back to the owners. He randomly happened to lift the briefcase of Robert Bingham and found a gun and the information about Sonia Baker inside. While the girlfriend suggested caution, and even informed Sonia that someone was stalking her, Stagg tried to ransom the contents back to Bingham, who killed him for his efforts. In terms of the plot the murder of Stagg, and the attempted murder of the deliveryman who stumbles across the crime, help get the investigation started. Also, the girlfriend gives Cal important information, IIRC some of the notes that Bingham had made while stalking Sonia.
* It's been a while since I watched the series but IIRC Foy was employed by the oil company. IIRC he was essentially Sonia's handler. I think he was the one who suggested her for the spy job in the first place (IIRC they had been *beep* buddies before) and I think he took information from her and/or paid her money.
