Oh Jesus Christ, it's not THAT bad.

People are so overly critical about movies. The goddamn thing was made for kids. Get over it. For what it is, I enjoyed it. Is it the best movie ever made? Hell no. But placing it in the 100 Worst Movies of All-Time is completely unjustified and ludicrous.

Honestly, it wasn't bad and it wasn't good. I liked it though, but it just didn't really feel much like a sequal to the Mask to me. The mask wasn't really used much (Not if you count the dog, though.) in it and it felt more like a different movie. But I liked it a bit.

This movie was painful! I don't have to be overly critical to point out the numerous flaws in this film. First off, the fact that it was a "kids film" is the first mistake the movie made. The first Mask was made for wide audiences, but adults moreso. Not to mention, the comics both movies were inspired from are actually very dark, graphic, and adult-centered works. So by turning it into a kids film was a big mistake.

Now the first movie was mainly well received for having a funny and inventive premise, featuring a good comedic performance from Jim Carrey and having innovative special effects (for the time.) This movie had horrendous cgi, was never even remotely funny, and starred Jamie Kennedy.

I didn't have to nitpick or look for flaws. Almost every moment made me crindge... its one of the few movies that I can honestly say that I found nothing enjoyable in.

I've not seen it; and so I wont say anything negative about the film. But the OP's statement "placing it in the 100 worst movies of All-Time is completely unjustified and ludicrous" is, in itself, completely unjustified and ludicrous.

You enjoyed it for what it is (a sequel aimed at a younger audience) but IMDB's voting system isn't what you think other people would think of the film; it's what you yourself think of the film.

If people think it's garbage; aimed at kids or not; then they have every right to vote it as low as possible. They're not going to vote on behalf of their kids, or their neighbours kids, or Pitt/Jolies' kids.

The movie got in the bottom 100 on more than just IMDB incidently; and other sites are critically ran, and not based on the votes of average joe's such as you, and I.

It's a fun film for kids. Worthy of a 2.1 score? Definitely not.

Why do you hate kids?
Kids are not stupid and don't enjoy crap movies any more than adults do.

Indeed, there are some great films for kids that actually help to expand their minds and taste in movies.

I grew up loving The Neverending Story and I have a feeling any kid could grow to love that movie. Meanwhile this is a forgettable movie that might get a chuckle or two from a kid. Unfortunately it is extremely over the top and zany and probably would frighten some children.

Even today great new somewhat kid oriented movies are coming out like Rise of the Guardians which has a lot more to offer to any audience.

The "it's a kids movie" argument fails in so many ways.

By making a statement like that you are assuming that children will like everything and can't think for themselves.

Let me tell you something, even though a kid's brain is not as devolved as an adult brain, children can still decide for themselves what they find entertaining.

Also, this movie is full of scenes that I think is horrible for anyone, kids or not. A baby pissing in different directions, a woman turned into a huge nose, a baby causing trouble, I can go on, and on.

I personally thought it was okay but there are just a few things - little problems/nitpicks that I can't help but point out. Like how Tim's "Masked" form has hair when Stanley's "Masked" form in the original did not. I didn't get that.

And also about the baby getting powers...I get that he probably got them from Tim but isn't it technically just the Mask itself that gives the wearer the powers? I mean if the wearer isn't wearing the mask he/she does not have powers. In the case of Loki it's not like that because he's well a god and already has powers.

I wonder why Jesus Christ didn't stop this movie from being made when there's Ethiopia.
