After Earl/Bob shot Dr. Fleischer and his daughter, and he' freaking out in the hotelroom, he says "How many times can I be born again" What does he mean by that ?
shareI thought Todd Solondz was poking fun at the idea that one can
do the most atrocious acts over and over again, and simply put it
behind him by accepting the "Lord" and being "re-Born". As if to say,
after each violent act one only has to be re-born to start anew without
guilt for what they have done.
I was dying laughing when Bob said this line because I took it to mean
he's done this so many times before.
I thought it was haunting. "How many times can I be born again" As he commits statuatory rape. It's definitely a line that sticks with you long after the credits roll. :{
