Good, but give us some credit.

Solondz just beat us over the head with his message.

"Your name is a palindrome. Forwards, backwards, it stays the same. Never changes."

It never changes? Who would say that unless they were a contrived plot device intended to "develop" the theme of an otherwise good film?

I still like this film, but dammit, at times, almost like Haggis's "Crash," it is a bit over-the-top in delivering its message.

What do you think?

I agree, I love all of Todd Solondz's films, but at times he is a little too insecure. I agree that the worst part of the film is Mark's speech, but what movie doesn't have one bad scene. Based on how people view Palindromes, the film already seems to be so esoteric (although, I understood fully after seeing it two times) why does Todd Solondz need the Mark speech; it's not like tweenagers are his main audience.

what? Mark's speech was the best part!

Mark's speech is by far the highlight of a pretty bad movie in my opinion.
