Is this supposed to be a sequel to Absolute Power?

Just heard about this movie and was wondering.

I never saw Absolute Power, but I imagine that maybe it's a spiritual successor?

Maybe president Richmond from Absolute Power, or his soul to be precise, is paying for the evil deeds he did and the escape he thought had succeeded by living in Mooseport? Having to be the mayor, and under Governor Handy Harrison in two years time is icing on the cake.

So this movie is limbo at the very least, maybe even hell.

The Doctor actually only has a Master's degree!!!1!!11!
