The OP is another victim of modern cinema's low standards, where so many mediocre (or just outright bad) movies are considered great because of a "twist ending" that basically it becomes the only way dumba$s audiences can say that a movie is "original", while telling a familiar story is not even allowed anymore, no matter how many more good qualities are brought into it.
Funnily enough, the same people will go see the 15th Spiderman movie, the 20th Batman movie, can't wait for the next X-Men, will kill each other to get a ticket for the next Star Wars, and consider those movies to be fine (they all have great imdb scores). Ironic.
The moral of the story is: there's too many little kids with an opinion on these boards.
