I Love Lucy - recreation that did not actually occur?

One of the I Love Lucy recreations they did in this movie showed Lucy in the kitchen trying to cook a chicken, but she kept dropping it on the floor and making a fool of herself. Now, I own every season on DVD and not once do I recall an actual episode featuring this scene. Did they just invent it for this movie or am I missing something?

No, you're not missing something. I was wondering if anyone, besides me, noticed that, and you did. So, now i know i'm not the only one!

Actually, i think that the people who made the movie probably cared more about getting the point across in an entertaining way, than they did about accuracy of "the little things", which left some room for bendablity, if you know what i mean.

If you'll recall, that scene looks very much like a copy of Ricky and Fred's scene, when they were in the kitchen, struggling with food, in "The Chocolate Factory" episode of the actual show. So, i think that the makers of this movie took that as inspiration for thier own made-up scenes. Though, why they couldn't just to authentic, accurate reinactments of things as they actually happened in the show, is beyond me.

Good eye!

Okay, that makes sense. Perhaps they wanted to give York her own, original bit of Lucy-esque comedy to do.

I thought that scene was from "Pioneer Women" when she's making a fool of herself with that giant mass of dough...the one she put 13 cakes of yeast in.

I just watched this movie on Netflix last night and didn't see this scene. I did see it on Everybody Loves Raymond though.

Albi began to cry dragon tears, which as we all know turn into jellybeans.

reply

Actually that did happen. In the episode where she is making bread.

reply

Oh really? The only thing that I remember from that episode is the bread. Thanks for clearing that up

No Problem :-)

reply

No it did not .

That scene was real, but it was Ricky dropping the chicken in the job switching episode.
