I Do Believe This Might Be My Masterpiece
Aldo Raine's, but maybe also Tarantino speaking to close out what may well be his masterpiece. Not that anything is likely to ever top Pulp Fiction, but when you make arguably the greatest film of all time on your second attempt, you get to call your second best your masterpiece. Question is-- which is his second best? Jackie Brown, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, or Inglourious Basterds? I think only the Shoshanna subplot prevents Basterds from being a clear second, but it's telling how great the rest of the film is that even with a significant weakness it's still a flat-out incredible movie. I really hope he has one more in him...
