Chris Waltz and August Diehl

Dare I say I can’t recall the last film I’ve seen where 2 actors stole every scene they were in. Waltz deserved best actor for this. He was off the charts. And August Diehl was obviously only in 1 scene but he was captivatingly good. You know you have to be good to overshadow Michael Fassbender. Brad Pitt was atrocious in this but it felt like it was...intentional?

They were both fantastic. I thought Brad Pitt was excellent also. I think Tarantino wanted Aldo Raine played exactly the way Pitt played him.

It's an enthralling performance, the very definition of Oscar-worthy!

It's also a disturbing one, because Tarantino is so obviously in love with this character. I mean he had the Jew-hunting Nazi be brilliant and charming and outwit everyone, while the guys who are in the right are depicted as brutes and idiots. I can only hope that Tarantino fell in love with the character after Waltz began producing that amazing performance, and that QT doesn't have wank fantasies about being a charming and brilliant Nazi or anything.

August Diehl was also in the scene where he snatches Shoshanna from her theatre.
